Our Restaurant: "Korvalan Komea"

Visiting Korvala's restaurant and café is like taking a step back in time. Our place offers a unique opportunity to experience local specialities, showcasing traditional meals and freshly baked sweet and savoury snacks. These are served in either one of the two dining rooms, each furnished in the style that is typical of Lapland's log houses from the 1800s.

Breakfast

Our continental breakfast is served from 9:00 to 10:00 every day except Wednesdays and Sundays. It's also possible to get "breakfast-to-go" boxes, which can be pre-ordered and picked up on Tuesdays and Saturdays in the evening for your breakfast the following day. Breakfast includes local specialities, including rye bread and sourdough, butters, cheeses, cold meats, eggs, yoghurt, fruit, juice, jams, granola, cereal, sugar, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk and honey.

Lunch

The lunch is served in our light and sunny blue dining room, at the southern end of the house from 12:00 to 16:00, everyday except Wednesdays and Sundays. It offers traditional food, including salads, soups or light casseroles, freshly baked bread and a dessert selection.

Dinner

Both dining rooms are used for candlelit dinners from 19:00 to 22:00 (two sittings). The starter includes soups and salads with freshly baked breads, and the main courses are made from local fish, meat and game, with vegetarian options. The desserts include local specialities, including arctic berries and cheeses.

Café & Bar

The café is open from 11:00 to 16:00 everyday except Wednesdays and Sundays. A pot of freshly brewed coffee or tea is served with a selection of sweet and savoury treats baked daily in our kitchens. 

The bar is open from 18:00-22:00 and serves cocktails, apéritifs, long drinks, wine, and beer from the local brewery.

Picnic Lunch Box

Our picnic lunch boxes include local specialities to help keep your energy going on your excursion days. The boxes can be picked up between 9:00 and 10:00 everyday except Wednesdays and Sundays and must be pre-ordered at least a day in advance. 

Chef Susanna

Susanna, the chef, runs the restaurant and has over 20 years experience in the food business. Combining tradtional favourites with the latest trends, Susanna uses healthy and versatile local ingredients to bring you the pure and clean flavours of Lapland and the Arctic region.
